Last But Not Least

Image
Wooww, this will be our last blog for the whole semester... time went by too fast.  For my last blog I want it to be about  just some of my favorite and special places for me growing up on Saipan :) 1. First  is going to the with the familia and having a great time, blasting music and just enjoying the moment and then we get to see the beautiful sunset !  being able to see the sunsets at the end of the my days is a true blessing ! My second favorite thing to do  is going to the street market events. This is like a weekly event that goes on every Thursday ! My favorite part is the aroma of all the food that is being placed on sale and then Im there like going back and forth looking at the food  having a hard time deciding what to buy ! Theres also live entertainments that you can enjoy ! Third is like a tradition for my grandmother, she wakes us up early in the morning to get ready for church ! Going to church to give thanks...

NMI Museum of History and Culture

Image
Todays post is about one of the premier museums in Saipan is the CNMI Museum of History and Culture. The museum is home to an excellent showcase of the life of the people of the island, both past and present. A visit to the museum will help you learn a lot about Saipan. These photos were the only ones that i found on google that looked decent but I remember when I was little going to the museum and I remember being amazed seeing the art of our ancestors  history/culture.. It was pretty cool seeing the waxed figures in the museum .. wish I had better pictures to show...   found this on google, this is how it looks like from the outside of the museum...  This is a model of my ancestors huts, my ancestors home.

Saipans Botanical Garden

Image
Since I didn't get to post anything last week, I want to make up for it. So todays second post is about one of the most beautiful and peaceful place that I ever been to growing up in Saipan. And that beautiful place is called Saipan Botanical Garden. I've only been there once way back in the early 2000s, when I was in elementary for a field trip. I remember seeing soooo much green lively plants and animal statues that we could climb on. There was also a stairway to climb up, and you get to see a 360 view of the garden. One of my favorite spots was the hut with hammocks. In this botanical garden it is filled with many indigenous tropical flora, so if you're someone who loves nature, green, and gardens then this is a perfect place for you. To enter you had to pay a entrance fee $15 dollars for adults and $10 dollars for children. There was a shack for fresh fruit smoothies and drinks for sale. Sadly I just found out that it has been closed down... wish they could open it up...

MAÑAGAHA ISLAND :)

Image
Within Saipan's lagoon lies a tiny island called Mañagaha. This beautiful island is popular for its clear blue waters and soft sands. :) It is only a 15 minute ferry boat ride from the main island to Managaha. . Also to visitors of the island theres an entrance fee but if you're a local its free  to enter. A lot of the tourist go there to snorkel, parasail, ride on the banana boats etc. Some go there to enjoy the feel of the island and bathe under the sun.  Theres like buffet for people that made reservations and fresh clean coconut to buy and drink. (my fav drink) and clean shower rooms to change and shower :)    My last visit to Managaha me and my dad side of the fam went for a family BBQ picnic. Fun day with lots of good food and good company. Kids were playing volleyball, football, some were swimming and our aunties and uncle chilling with their drinks talking stories. Managaha is a great place to go for a family fun day  :)    * ...

For todays post it is located in the center of the island Saipan. Mount Tapochou is the highest point of the island and has a great 360 view of the entire island. Its a very cool scenic place to go.

Blue Grotto Of Saipan

Image
Todays post is one of Saipan's popular places on the island. The Grotto is also called Blue Grotto of Saipan. To go down to the cave there are 100 something steep steps that you must go down to see the blue waters of the grotto. Although its a beautiful place it is also very important to be careful because sometimes the waters can be very rough. The Grotto is a very popular place to go for a swim and for diving.

Banzai Cliff

Todays post is about a historic site on Saipan. Banzai Cliff also known as Suicide Cliff this historic site has a very sad and tragic history behind it. Banzai Cliff is located on the northern tip of Saipan and has a beautiful site of the blue pacific ocean. Some history facts about  Banzai Cliff during the World War II American troops were sent to Saipan to battle the Japanese and to take over the island. As the battle go on for days the Japanese troops were losing. In 1944 the Japanese soldiers and commanders instead of surrendering they told everyone the Japanese and Korean people living on Saipan that they should all suicide and jump off the cliff because if they don't the american troops will kill and torture them. So thousands of lives died from jumping off the cliff.   (these photos were taken in 2014 by me on my old itouch, it doesn't really show the true beauty of this place)   Many tourist come to this site. Some come to pay their respects, some to take p...
